8:46 p.m. - 2006-08-28 8-28-06: At the west side Laredo's. The walls are full of murals featuring sombreroed men walking around the little Mexican town square, chatting up the demure, blushing senioritas and there's much guitar-playing and merry-making. Could there be a more perfect environment in which to enjoy a burrito?? I ordered the burritos Mexicali, consisting of two smaller burritos with shredded beef and stuff inside and covered in a red sauce that wasn't all that spicy, but it wasn't ketchup, either. Nor was it catsup. Actually, it was pretty good, and there was a different kind of salsa inside the burritos and all the flavors complimented one another nicely. Kia ordered the fiesta burrito, which was full of steak bits and covered in some variety of cheese goo. It was as if they had read Kia's mind when they invented it. And now, who knows what future burritos await? With beans? Without? Cilantro as a garnish or tucked inside? And the complementary chips and salsa: what of those? Only time will tell, my friends.
