Summertime? Or BUMMERtime??!?!?
It appears to be summer again. How this happened I have no idea.
ANYWAY, so getting back to the new couch: The new couch is working out great! It's dark red to match our tri-shade red woolen rug, and upholstered in spage-aged synthetic faux-suede, and best of all, cat puke washes clean away! It's already the only thing in our house without cat-puke stains, and not because the little vomit machines have been slacking off, either. Also, it's comfortable and long enough to lie on without having your legs all bent unnaturally at the end or hanging off the end in a thrombosis-inducing way. We love our new couch! Three cheers for the couch!

In other news, Graham and Erin's wedding was this weekend and Yid Vicious played at the reception. It was a good time, full of merriment and next to a nice lake. Also, Graham and Erin are really nice and happened to have met for the first time a few years ago at my first theremin concert, which also featured YV, so seeing them all married and all was pretty satisfying. I dusted off the theremin and played it on a couple of things at the reception. As it turned out, the party was full of physicists who were enthralled by the theremin, even while they understood immediately how it worked. "My god, man," they'd gasp, "does that thing run on...HAND CAPACITANCE?"
"I'd wager there's some sort of beat frequency oscillator in that thing," and so forth. A couple of the kids liked the theremin, too.
And, I got some new cds. Which I'll describe in detail when I have a little more energy. Yeah, I'm talking about, YOU, summer! Thanks a lot, you dumb season!
