7:10 p.m. - 2006-04-17 Willy St Kiosk: Wasn't covered up, as I had initially feared. No, it was TAKEN OFF THE KIOSK by some unknown scumsucking weasel shitbag mountebank, sometime within a day of posting. At first I was a little upset and stymied. Then angry: I began plotting my revenge. But against WHO? I didn't see who ripped it down. Then, being in the middle of a cold, I just felt tired. With Kia's encouragement, I resolved to just let it go. Liquor store on Willy St: Still there as of the day after posting. State St abandoned storefront window: Gone as of Sunday, 4-16. Probably just the normal, harmless campus prank of setting a bunch of posters on fire for no reason in a drunken stupor. Good times. Humanities building: I didn't care enough to go back inside the Humanities Building to check. And finally, Actually, that sort of turned out to be true on the day of the show, because a bunch of people came to listen. People who could have been doing other stuff: reading to their children, bowling, re-enacting long-ago battles, driving around aimlessly, or just sitting in a darkened room and thinking. Instead, they came to hear Michael and Melissa and Kia and I, and we at Stevergo are extremely grateful. Sometimes, as we get caught up in our day to day misanthropy, it's important to be reminded that people can be generous and kind after all, that not everyone is a hateful poster-snatching asshole loser coxcomb. So thanks to you whomever you may be, anonymous scumsucking hateful mountebank shitbag loser asshole coxcomb poster-ripping-down jag-off! Though your ends are unclear, you've succeeded in making me see with new eyes all the good in people and the futility of kiosks. Also, a quick spring update: It looks like it's spring! Today the weather was nice even though the sun was out and me and Kia got to spend the whole day together and I'm reminded that it's good to be alive. In your face, gloom!
