damn, does o'hare ever suck
Monday. Blah. Not that I suddenly got a day job or anything. Instead, I drove Kia and her mom, Barb, to the Ohair airport so they could go to Australia for two weeks. No Kia for two weeks: sucks. Hopefully they'll have a great time, touring the Sidney Opera House, climbing the Sidney Suspension Bridge in order to better view the Sidney Opera House. And probably other activities as well. Not that two weeks is such a long time, but I'm strangely unaccustomed to living alone for any length of time. I don't think I've ever totally lived alone, except for a week or two in 1988 during which I slept in practice rooms in Boston. There's always the fear of going insane, Catherine Denieuve in Revulsion-style. Probably that won't happen, but still, I already miss Kia. Plus, I'm kind of exhausted. Last week there was a lot of the dragging the drums around and then setting them up and then taking them home and putting the drums in the house and replacing them with the other stuff I play and dragging THAT around, etc. Yid Vicious played, and that was fun. Also, the Active Percussion Duo, which, I decided yesterday will make its mark by marrying fucked-up free-jazz-type music with Jerry Lewisesque show-biz phoniness. It doesn't sound like it would work, but...it will. By god, it will.
